George Street Naturopathic Medicine is a family health centre located at 8 George Street in Uptown Waterloo. The clinic offers a full complement of services designed to help families and individuals live healthier lifestyles.

Dr. Joanna Thiessen, B.Sc., N.D., Doula
Dr. Joanna Thiessen is the Director of George Street Naturopathic Medicine. Her passion for healthy living and her love of people led her towards a career as a naturopathic doctor.
Joanna grew up in Toronto and then lived in Guelph where she studied biology at the University of Guelph. Upon completing her Honours Bachelor of Sciences degree, she spent a year volunteering and traveling in Madagascar and Southern Africa. Her life was enriched by the wonderful people whom she met in Africa, and these experiences served to strengthen her desire to help people achieve better health.
Joanna attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto for her naturopathic training. Upon completion of the four year program, she relocated her family to Waterloo and began the process of building her clinic, George Street Naturopathic Medicine.
Joanna enjoys treating all people – men, women and children of all ages. She has received additional training related to pregnancy, childbirth and the prenatal period, and has a special interest in this area.
Joanna lives in Waterloo with her husband and their son. She is eager to participate in creating health and well-being in her new community.
Lisa Hilverda, RMT
Lisa Hilverda, RMT, continues to grow her busy massage therapy practice, KW Massage Therapy. Lisa enjoys therapeutic work and treats everything from migraine headaches to pregnancy discomfort. Kelly Wilson, RMT
In December of 2008 we welcomed Kelly Wilson, RMT, a graduate of Sutherland Chan. Kelly is happy to have finally found the right place for her to do what she loves doing best. She connects strongly with her clients and focuses on finding solutions that work for them and their unique situation. Kelly is currently studying Osteopathy and is excited to utilize her new skills in her current practice. Whether you have a desire for relaxation or a therapeutic concern, Kelly is trained in many areas of treatment. She is still accepting new patients and welcomes all ages and body types.
